Maison Blanc, (n.d. but 1943-1946). Ephemera. Item #205078
14 by 20 inches. Menu on one side, Seattle promotional material on the other. Dated from notice of OPA price controls of April 1943 (during WWII, the federal government regulated prices to curb war profiteering). The menu offers an interesting guarantee: if a patron ordered an unfamiliar item and didn't like it, the food could be exchanged for something else at no charge. With dishes like turtle and rattlesnake on the menu, such an offer may have boosted sales. Folded, as issued, else near fine.
