Tinker (1881-1968) was a writer and philanthropist who wrote extensively about the history and cultrure of New Orleans. The Edward Larocque Tinker Library is located at the Ransom Center, University of Texas at Austin. Inscribed by the author on title page: 'for John S. Kendall, valiant worker in the field of Louisiania, Edward Larocque Tinker.' With holograph letter, 8.4 x 5.4 inches, to Dr. Kendall signed with full name, approximately 120 words. Newspaper review of the pamphlet included. Newspaper has browned the title page. First edition thus. A fine copy in wrappers (paperback).
