Original photogravure from Volume 18 of The North American Indian, facing page 36. Van Gelder paper. 'Cordage was made of caribou rawhide, of sinew, and of willowbark. For transport, the Woods Cree [neighbors of the Blackfeet] employed besides canoes, wooden sleds drawn by dogs or women. In open country the horse-drawn travois was sometimes used.' First edition (first printing). Very good copy matter and in protective sleeve. There is scattered foxing to the gravure.
