5 separated loose panels, 5.75 x 7.5 inches, with front and rear cover and 3 additional panels. Handcolored. A perspective view of the 18th - 19th century annual social event, the Promenade de Longchamp, which took place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of Easter week, when the new spring fashions for the year were displayed for the first time. The promenade started from the Champs Elysées through the Porte Maillot to the Abbey of Longchamp in the Bois de Boulogne. The front cover, with 3 cut-out openings shows a park view with pedestal-mounted equestrian statues at either side, and the cut-out prints and backdrop reveal the procession of people in festive costumes on horseback, in carriages, and on foot. The Champs Elysées with the Arc de Triomphe? is visible in the far distance. All panels are very good with bright color. Front and rear covers are on heavier stock. Missing one panel (5 of 6).
