1909. Ephemera. Item #286868
Ethel M. Kelley was the fiction editor for Hampton's Magazine and the author of a number of books of fiction. Typed letter, 2 pages, 8.5 x 11 inches, laid paper, with letterhead of Hampton's Magazine, New York, dated March 4th, 1909, addressed to: My dear Mrs. (Richard) Barry (Monrovia, Ca.). Content of letter is personal and humerous, with discussion of the play, 'The Vampire,' which she did not see but did read the play 'and was thoroughly digusted by it' with additional unflattering comments about the playwright (George Sylvester Viereck). She is returning Mr. Barry's story but hopes he will send others. Letter previously trifolded for mailing. Some closed tears at fold and tanning to sheet with edge wear. About 520 words.
