Beilby Porteus (1731-1809) was Bishop of London from 1787 to 1809. Autograph letter, single sheet, 7.25 x 7.5 inches, on laid paper. Not in hand of the Bishop but from an anonymous assistant: 'The Bishop of London presents his complts. to Mr. Hardridge & desires he will send to him down by the Port the Paper he has found directed to him - at Thirdridge near Sevenoaks, Kent.'.
