Single sheet, 8.5 x 11 inches. Dana Gioia, born 1950, is a poet, most often associated with the poetry movement known as New Formalism. Years after this letter he was the Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts (2003-2009) and in 2015 the California State Poet Laureate. Very good copy. Letter typed on Dana Gioia letterhead, dated Feb. 1, 1998, addressed Dear Peter (Howard). Letter encloses a check, discusses visiting Serendipity books, and 'enclosing a few trifles.' Previously folded in half. About 75 words.
