6 sheets, 5.25 x 8.1 inches, with text on 11 leaves. Autograph letter signed, dated Jan. 8th, 1888, on letterhead of Grand Central Hotel, New York. Addressed 'Wm. K. Flint, Esq.' Detailed letter regarding mining operations and potential mine sales in which Flint is involved and J.P.H. is his agent. Discusses the Red Cloud mine which Weymouth has examined and his report is expected; Garnier and Carter seem to be onsite at the mine monitoring operations; currently J.P.H. is working on ____ land 23,000 in Tehams Co.; mentions the Alhambra and Calico mines and that ___ 'will burst it up rather than let S and R steal two of the best mines in the whole group. This scheme S and R concocted after Edwards ___ & reported upon the property. R wrote to E not to put in writing or mention these two mines in his report...R then wrote him he would arther lose the sale than to put these in and he now refuses to buy unless these go in. Lenders refuse to buy unless these go in and now what he wants is to buy direct from Doe getting in these two mines as the bond to R has run out...' Letter with more information on R and S and Doe...'he (Hamilton) puts S up as a d--- rascal and R also, only ten times smarter.' Very detailed content. Wm. K.
