13 by 5 inches. A stock certificate for the company that built the first railroad in Humboldt County, California, a line from the bay up Salmon Creek to the old growth redwood forests there. The company was founded by H. H. Buhne, one of the first Anglo settlers in the region, who was on the first ship to sail across the bar in 1850. Very scarce. A fine, unused example. [JSP02].
