Luise Rainer, Paul Muni & Chingwah Lee in M-G-M's The Good Earth
(1950s). Ephemera. Item #109067
A real photo postcard of a still from the film adaptation of The Good Earth, based on Pearl Buck's best-known book. Lee was a native of San Francisco's Chinatown, born there in 1901. He acted in several films, including The Good Earth and The Flower Drum Song. Most of the time, he ran a tourist shop and tour business, seeking to provide a positive view of Chinatown to visitors to San Francisco. Selling signed postcards of himself in famous movies was part of that effort. Fine.
