2-1/2 by 4 inches. Carte de visite, closely cropped photograph portrait of the popular beauty and opera singer who debuted in the role of Cupid in 1876. From there she became perhaps the most widely photographed person alive. She made more money from photo sales than acting in the 1880s. *** Mora, the photographer, was born in Cuba and relocated to New York about 1870. He quickly became one of the most prominent photographers of celebrities and his work was widely reprinted in newspapers and magazines. He closed his gallery in 1893. Very good, sprinkled with foxing and other tiny marks.
