Broughton was a poet, poetic film-maker and an important member of the San Francisco Renaissance. He was an early poet of the Radical Faeries and a member of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. He produced 23 films and 23 books durting his career, with both books and films winning awards. He is the subject of the 2012 documentary film 'Big Joy: The Adventures of James Broughton.' Two, 11 X 8.5 inch, letters signed 'James' addressed to Peter Howard at Serendipity Books, dated November 14 and Decmber 1976, discussing the sale of his film archive and literary collection, its value, his pending divorce. Both letters with good content.
