The book was issued in two variant jackets, one printed in black and red and the other in black and green. The proofs also came in two color variants. This is the green. A very good copy in wrappers (paperback), with the typical tanning and cracking at the spine. Tear to the fold of the rear flap. Inscribed by the author on the half-title: 'For the collection of Don Kaufmann from Norman Mailer.' Kaufmann published one of the first critical studies of Mailer, Norman Mailer: The Countdown (The First Twenty Years).
