Chart shows the daily routes of the ships involved in searching for the survivors of the 'Polaris,' captained by Charles Francis Hall, in an attempt to reach the North Pole. In 1968 exhumatrion of Hall's body revealed large quantity of arsenic, raising the question of poisoning. This report of the Secretary of the Navy was published 1873. It is centered on Baffin Bay, extending north to Smith's Sound and south to Hudson Strait and Cape Chidley. First edition (first printing). A near fine copy. Previously folded. Torn left lower edge where removed from binding.
