John Galen Howard (1864-1931) moved to San Francisco in 1901 to execute the Hearst Plan as the supervising architect of the Master Plan of the University of California and for the founding of the University's architectural program. Among his most famous buildings are the Campanile, Memorial Stadium, Sather Gate and the Hearst Greek Theatre, all on the Berkeley campus. First edition (first printing). A near fine copy.
