Print, 5.25 x 7.25 inches on sheet 9 x 12 inches. Woodcut print in black on white shows 3 Black men, two playing wind instruments above writhing white female. Earl Marshawn Washington, born 1962, created hundreds of fraudulent prints claiming they were created by his great grandfather, Earl Mack Washington (1862-1952). Suspicions re the authenticity of the prints arose almost immediately when they appeared on the market. In 2004 he was finally exposed. Signed by the author under print:'sc. E. M. Washington / 1927' First edition thus. A near fine copy. Tan paper is slightly browned.
