Francis Hall (1815-1884) was an engraver and the father of the painter Frank Hall. Letter mentions George Richmond (1809-1896), English painter and friend of Wm. Blake. Archdeacon Manning, later Cardinal Manning, was a leading Catholic prelate. Autograph letter, single sheet, 4.5 x 7 inches, written both sides, signed, dated 'Jany. 9th, 1850, 40 Gloucester Road. Regents Park. My dear Sir, I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your cheque for Ten Pounds on acct. of 'Baron Rolfe.' With Thanks, Very Truly Yours, Francis Hall. P.S.
